There are many varieties of apple trees that gardeners prefer to grow on their site. The article presents only the best varieties of apple trees, characterized by different planting dates, ripening. Each of the varieties differs in taste and external characteristics.
Summer varieties
Summer varieties of apple trees are intended mainly for fresh consumption. Such varieties bear fruit throughout the summer, and gardeners eagerly await the ripening of the fruit in order to enjoy delicious, juicy fruits.
White filling
The variety White filling has a long history. His appearance is associated with folk selection. It is believed that the variety appeared in the Baltic countries and soon spread throughout Europe. Some supporters are convinced that this is an old Russian variety.
The trees are medium in size, rarely exceed 4-5 m. The crown is pyramidal, with time it becomes rounded. The bark is rough, light gray in color. The leaves are medium, elliptical in shape. The fruits of a young apple tree reach 120-150 g in weight, apples of adult plants weigh about 60 g. The shape of the apples is round, the peel is green, with time acquires a white hue. The peel is thin, the flesh is tender.
The first fruits appear 5-6 years after planting a seedling. The average yield from a young tree is about 200 kg. Harvesting occurs in early August. After planting a seedling, it is important to provide it with constant moisture.
Papier
This is an early summer apple variety obtained by natural pollination. It is believed that its homeland is the Baltic states, where the variety appeared in the early 19th century.
The height of apple trees reaches medium size. Young plants have a broad, pyramidal crown, which becomes rounded as the tree grows older. Bark of a gray shade. Elongated shoots. Leaves are gray-green, slightly flattened, flat.
